FAQ

  1. What is Clubhouse?

Clubhouse is like zoom but audio only, you will not be recorded. This app allows you to network with people in your career field that you wouldn’t necessarily come into contact with on a daily basis!

  2. How do I join?

As of now, Clubhouse is strictly invite only. However, there is talk about one day having it be open to everyone. If you want to join but have not received an invite the easiest way is to download the app and see if you can find anyone that you know on the app already that might have an invite to send.

  3. What are Rooms & Clubs?

Rooms can be started by anyone! All you have to do is hit ‘Start Room’ and you are good to go! For finding rooms, once you fill out your profile and start following people you will be notified when rooms start. Clubs work the same way, some clubs you have to be accepted to be able to join. Some clubs and rooms have scheduled times and you will be notified when certain conversations are going on and who is in that room currently.

  4. Do I have to speak when I join a room?

When you join a room you are not required to speak but you are allowed to. There are moderators (they have green dots by their names) that run the rooms. All you have to do is raise your hand by hitting the button in the bottom right corner and a moderator will be notified. Once addressed or if there is a free moment you are more than welcome to ask a question or offer any advice you may have. If you are in a room and you know someone who is not in the room but you know everyone would benefit from hearing what is being talked about, you can ping your friends to the room! By doing that they will get notified and then be able to join the conversation.

  5. What is common courtesy when in a room?

When you are in a room and you are up at the top in the ‘Speakers’ section unless you are talking make sure your microphone is muted. If you agree with what someone is saying, ‘tap your mic rapidly’ to acknowledge what others are saying. When you want to leave a conversation if you are just listening hit the ‘leave quietly’ button in the bottom left corner. If you are one of the speakers, try to say ‘bye’ to the group if possible and then go ahead and hit the ‘leave quietly’ button.

  6. IMPORTANT

Make sure once you sign up you fill out your bio and link your Instagram and Twitter. During conversations, others will click on profiles to see who you are and what you have done which makes it easier to connect once rooms have ended!
