Praise for Aaron Lee Tasjan’s Get Over It, Underdog

By Kayla Pinckney

We are beyond excited for this new record released this past Friday by Aaron Lee Tasjan!

Get Over It, Underdog is Tasjan’s way of exploring what happens when an artist stops believing in themselves. He drew inspiration from his late mentor, Todd Snider, whose encouragement helped shape the album's message.

The singles “Science Friction,” “Lost and Alone,” and “Lydia’s Boots” were just the beginning! This album features 11 songs and was produced by Tasjan and Mark Miller. Be sure to give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed!

Read on for more praise for Get Over It, Underdog.

  • “…a set of 11 songs that meld Tasjan’s knack for off-kilter but truly humanistic storytelling with vibrant melodies that shift and shine: a little glam rock, a little sing-talk folk, a lot of empathizing for the kind of underdog that may not get a lot of attention but still has a whole lot to say.” - Rolling Stone

  • "His most upbeat songs — like “Lost & Alone” on his new release, 'Get Over It, Underdog' — hit with the soaring sheen of a smarter, more jaded 'Full Moon Fever'-era Tom Petty." - No Depression Review

  • "Tasjan’s a gifted writer, singer and guitar player, but, like Allison Russell, he’s no longer an outsider – he’s a leader in Nashville, and Music City is better for it.” - Americana Highways review

  • “It’s an introspective, often moody collection that rewards repeat listens, with sharp songwriting and memorable melodies proving that Tasjan remains one of Americana’s most thoughtful and consistently compelling voices – even if he occasionally doubts himself.” - Glide Magazine review
