What do you want to get out of this internship?
I’m hoping that this internship will help me be prepared to confidently job search and figure out what my next step is. I graduate in August, so I’m trying to decide what career opportunities I want to pursue.
What do you love to do? Hobbies? Activities?
I play piano, guitar, and sing in a few bands in Nashville. I’m also a songwriter and help produce some of my friends’ records. After years of not doing any solo music, I plan on releasing some original stuff this summer! I’m also freelance writer, specializing in research and narrative writing. I’m a big sports person too, and I love to watch/play just about anything.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
Probably Indian food. Just so many options and they’re all so good.
Favorite musicians, artists, genres, equipment, shows you’ve been to...tell us anything you love about music.
I love just about every genre of music, but my favorite is probably pop/singer-songwriter. My favorite artists are John Mayer, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, and Anderson .Paak. Bruno Major and Theo Katzman are forever tied for the best show I’ve ever been to.
Why did you choose to intern here?
I love small management teams/independent labels, and Olivia Management has such a strong core of people working for their artists. The passion and love for the music industry is so evident here, and I couldn’t think of a better workplace to spend time learning about what I want to do for a living.
What is your favorite part about Nashville?
I love the camaraderie amongst the people in Nashville. Such a vibrant and music-driven city is bound to breed competition, however I feel like everyone is trying to help each other get to where they want to go, one step at a time. We’re all in it together in Nashville.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I know I want to be a writer, but I’m not sure in what fashion yet. My goal is to be writing within the music industry, along with still being able to play in my bands and songwriting/producing.
