Autumn's Internship Introduction
What do you want to get out of this internship?
I want to be able to put into practice what I have learned previously about artist management and I want to gain confidence and learn how to thrive in a professional setting.
What do you love to do? Hobbies? Activities?
I love to knit. I have a ravelry account (it’s like Facebook for knitters) and I geek out over new yarns and patterns. In my senior year of high school, I designed and knit my own sweater. It didn’t turn out exactly as planned, but hopefully the next one turns out better.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
Pasta. You can do so many different things with it and it’s a good basis for any dish.
Favorite musicians, artists, genres, equipment, shows you’ve been to...tell us anything you love about music.
Twenty One Pilots is hands down my favorite artist right now. They really take creativity and lyrical depth to the next level and set the standard for other artists in terms of their creativity, dedication to their craft, and their lyrical prowess. They are also wiling to go out on a limb and talk about difficult subjects. I absolutely love music that takes me on a journey and describes everyday things in unique ways, or that simply makes me think. That’s the kind of music that makes me excited to work in this industry.
Why did you choose to intern here?
I wanted to continue delving into the world of artist management and I felt that Olivia Management was the place where I could really grow and develop. I also wanted to step out of my comfort zone and learn how to approach artist management within different genres and different audiences than what I’m accustomed to.
What is your favorite part about Nashville?
I love how artsy this town is. Obviously, there’s the music part of it: there is so much live music to experience and so many creatives to collaborate with. Then there’s the murals all around town. There is just a genuine creative spirit throughout this town and that is most definitely my favorite part of living in Nashville.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be an artist manager for one specific artist. I love the idea of having a one-on-one connection and relationship with an artist and being able to help bring their creative vision to life.
