Erin Anderson / Olivia Management Appreciation Post by Maggie Adams
I’m sure Erin will write her own short blog about the 5th Year Anniversary of her successful company, but I wanted to do a post of my own about what makes this company great. ERIN. “Duh,” you say, “Of course she’s what makes the company great, it’s her company.” But seriously, I watch this woman work harder and smarter every day than anyone I’ve met. Even in my relatively short time of knowing her, I could immediately tell that the success of her business and her artists can be attributed to her determined spirit and intelligence. This should come as no surprise to anyone that knows her, and I’ve had many people tell me that I’m lucky to work for her, to which I respond, “I know!”
I’m well aware of how lucky I am because I know first-hand that her goal is to not just retain employees and artists, but to also increase their happiness and grow them. She constantly checks in with me about what I need to feel valuable and successful, and how she can help me grow in the company, pushing me to work towards a future goal instead of remaining stagnant. Just this past Monday, she spent an hour explaining the ins and outs of publishing to me because she knows that I want to expand my knowledge of the music industry as a whole, and she'll do anything she can to help me accomplish that. She develops people - it's who she is!
Countless others have experienced this mentorship from Erin as well. She’s been an entrepreneurship and music business professor at Belmont and Vanderbilt, help run an accelerator over the summers for Vanderbilt students and taken time to stay in touch with those she’s taught. Let me remind you that she does this WHILE RUNNING HER OWN BUSINESS. She is a rare breed of humans that somehow manages to care deeply for the people around her, while simultaneously making sure her business and the people involved are growing and achieving. Because of this, I’ve seen that her artists look up to her, her students look up to her and her peers look up to her.
So, today, we are celebrating Olivia Management and its incredible founder, Erin!! Grab the nearest champagne bottle and raise a glass for the boss woman of the century. She’s accomplished so much in just five years, and I can’t begin to guess at what new adventures she’ll take on in the next five. CHEERS.
